Prof. Arun Krishnan

Professor - Transport and Urban Infrastructure

MBA (IIM Ahmedabad), BE - Mechanical Engineer (Anna University)

Arun Krishnan is a mechanical engineer (Anna University) and an MBA (IIM Ahmedabad) with more than 12 years’ experience in infrastructure and public private partnerships with a focus on transport and urban infrastructure. He focusses on project structuring, financial analysis, business case analysis, transaction advisory and delivery of infrastructure and mobility projects. He’s worked on infrastructure project transactions of more than $500 million. He has also worked in and consulted for the manufacturing sector where he’s advised governments, private sector, industry bodies and multi-laterals on varied problems such as strengthening the industrial ecosystem, business planning, financial evaluations, policy making and skill development. He has worked for consulting firms such as McKinsey & Company and at KPMG. Prior to a career in consulting, he worked in L&T in setting up their greenfield shipyard/port in Chennai. He’s a visiting faculty in IIM Shillong, Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management, Takshashila Institution and Kautilya Institute of Public Policy.
He’s completed a course in project finance in the Amsterdam Institute of Finance taught by Prof. Pierre Hillion of INSEAD. He’s also done a programme on Managing Innovation Strategically at Cambridge University.
